Doug Dillard (March 6 1937-May 16 2012)

Doug Dillard has passed away last Wednesday. Most will remember him playing banjo in the fictional group 'The Darlings' on the greatest show of all time - The Andy Griffith Show. Besides his success in The Dillards bluegrass group, he also embraced the then fresh country-rock scene in 1968 by joining ex-Byrds member Gene Clark as 'Dillard & Clark.' - And now another piece of original Americana has faded away...
