Civility

I jumped on my bike today and visited the Civil War landmarks in my area.

Above - the bay where the Union blockade took place and where Confederates fended off a landing party.

A great etc etc grandfather of mine worked at this Saltworks. He took part in a skirmish about an hour away from here in Marianna, Florida where he was captured by the Federals and taken prisoner to New York. After the war he made his way back here to Florida albeit extremely malnourished and emaciated.

A city mayor erected this Union soldier monument in 1920. He must have been a Yankee.

Dustin-Wow! That is to cool! To have history like that! By the way, that sure is a purdy scoot in the last picture!
